Why Identification Theft is your #1 Enemy in 2014

Why Identification Theft is your #1 Enemy in 2014

Your information, the information about your family and your business, has become extremely valuable in the digital age. In fact, it is so valuable that it's minting billionaire's by the dozen that are in their 20's because they are the ones that have figured out how to amass more of that anyone else, so far. For today, we won't even discuss what the NSA adds to the equation, much less the criminals and creeps. Like each individual cell in your body, so is each bit of information about yourself, that is being collected, shared, analyzed and, frankly, targeted for attack.

Florida ranks #1 in the U.S. for I.D. theft and fraud.       The IRS says #1 scam in 2014 is I.D. theft & fraud.

Information has always been valuable and has historically made many very wealthy and powerful. What is new, besides the electronic aspect of it, is the ability to use it against so many, at the same time, and with relative ease and safety. The internet is the great equalizer, and it has just equalized cyber-risk, putting our online security, data, ID and information, all at risk in a much more profound way, than ever before.

"Our families, our kids, and our business, are all in the bullseye for the most savvy and ruthless criminals on the globe."

Massive campaigns have taken place, and will take place much more often. They will be larger scale, in terms of the number of individuals targeted, with deep and damaging consequences for the victims. We have indeed entered the phase of not "if", but "when" will you be a victim and it is clearly time to prepare and position for an entirely different environment in the future.

In 2014, you still have a chance to shore-in the information you want to hold, control, and protect. With advanced software that is undermining our privacy and security, and the undeniable shift that professional criminals are making from traditional crime to cybercrime, this window of opportunity will not last long. The rapid advance of technology is fueling and out-of-control, all-out assault on our digital information, as well as our financial and physical security.
